Why is Maison Plumarius embroidery so strong (and beautiful)?
At Maison Plumarius , we don't embroider lightly.
Every embroidered T- shirt we offer requires weeks of testing before being approved. Why? Because for us, an embroidered garment is not made for one season, but to accompany your life , memory after memory , without ever losing its beauty, its fit, or its emotion.
🌱 Slow fashion, right down to the embroidery stitches
Our vision for fashion is clear: create less, but better.
That's why each embroidered design goes through a careful prototyping phase , with multiple technical adjustments. Our goal is simple: to guarantee durable, stable, and aesthetically perfect embroidery , even after hundreds of washes .
🧵 Two layers of embroidery, for twice the strength
Our method is based on a double-layer process, rarely used in classic ready-to-wear:
-
The first layer is a solid base, which outlines the overall shape of the pattern. It stabilizes the surface, strengthens the fabric, and prepares the ground for the final layer.
-
The second layer adds detail, finesse, color, and relief. It brings the design to life with its nuances, play of light, and unique texture.
Result: an embroidered pattern that does not deform, remains clear, and whose structure holds up perfectly over time.
🎨 Threads selected with care (and experience)
There are many suppliers of embroidery threads — but very few meet our high standards.
Thanks to the expertise of our partners, embroiderers for over 20 years , we have tested and compared the threads of several major brands to choose the best for each color:
- For black tones , we use Madeira threads, renowned for their strength and exceptional hold.
- For the blue tones , it was the Isacord threads that caught our attention, for their subtle shine and softness.
- Other suppliers are also used depending on the color ranges, to guarantee the best possible rendering and hold .
Each thread is selected for its strength, flexibility, color fastness when washed , and its ability to subtly reflect light.
🧷 Two types of stabilizers, for reinforced and comfortable embroidery
A good embroidered T-shirt is not just what you see: it's also what you don't see .
We use two layers of different stabilizers to strengthen the textile and improve wearing comfort:
- The first stabilizer is rigid, applied under the fabric. It guarantees a solid base, prevents creases, and ensures even embroidery.
- The second, softer stabilizer is placed on the inside to reinforce the pattern while protecting the skin from friction . It provides comfort, especially on sensitive areas such as the chest.
The result is an embroidery that is both robust , precise , and pleasant to wear every day.
